Terms of Service

Welcome to ExamOven (the "Service"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of ExamOven. By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

ExamOven is developed and operated by an individual developer, trading under the name "Samkarya" (not a registered company). References to "we," "us," or "our" throughout these Terms refer to that individual operator.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using ExamOven, you confirm that you can form a binding contract, that you accept these Terms, and that you agree to comply with them and with our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

2. Description of the Service

ExamOven is a free study aid that lets you simulate competitive-exam conditions using publicly sourced practice question sets or your own custom question sets. It is intended solely as a preparation and self-assessment tool. It is not proctoring software, does not administer official exams, and does not report your activity to any educational institution or employer.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use ExamOven. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you should only use the Service with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

4. Acceptable Use

When using ExamOven, you agree not to:

• Attempt to manipulate, bypass, or exploit the timing, scoring, or other core mechanics of the Service;
• Use the Service for any commercial purpose (including reselling or charging others for access) without our prior written permission;
• Submit, upload, or share content that is illegal, hateful, defamatory, sexually explicit, or that infringes someone else's intellectual property or other rights;
• Use bots, scrapers, or other automated means to access, extract, or interact with the Service beyond normal individual use;
• Attempt to disrupt, overload, or interfere with the Service's normal operation, including by circumventing any rate limits or abuse-prevention measures we apply.

We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access for anyone who violates these Terms.

5. Your Content

Custom content you use for practice. If you upload or paste your own question sets for personal practice, you're solely responsible for that content, including its accuracy and your right to use it. We don't claim ownership of it, and this content is processed locally in your browser to run your practice session. If you choose to use the "Share this exam" feature, your content is end-to-end encrypted and temporarily hosted so others can access it via your link. You remain fully responsible for ensuring you have the right to share any content you distribute this way.

Enforcement on Shared Content. Because shared custom exams are end-to-end encrypted, we cannot proactively monitor or read the questions you share. However, if we receive a valid report that a specific share link points to content that violates these Terms (for example, containing illegal material, hate speech, or infringing intellectual property) or applicable law, we reserve the right to immediately delete the encrypted data associated with that link without notice.

Content you choose to share with us. If you voluntarily submit content to us — for example, by sharing a custom question set through our contact or feedback tools, or contributing exam papers through a linked submission form — you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, and publish that content as part of our publicly available question library. You confirm that you have the right to share this content and that doing so doesn't infringe anyone else's rights.

6. Publicly Sourced Question Content

Much of the question content available through ExamOven is sourced from publicly available past papers or community contributions, made available through our open, publicly browsable repository. While we make reasonable efforts to keep this content accurate, we don't guarantee that it, or any accompanying answers or explanations, is error-free. Treat it as a study aid and verify anything important independently.

Some question content may reference images, diagrams, or third-party trademarks hosted elsewhere online; we don't host or store that external media ourselves, and we make no claim of ownership over it. If you believe any content available through the Service infringes your copyright, please contact us with details and we will act promptly to review and, where appropriate, remove or modify the material.

7. AI-Assisted Content

We provide optional prompts and guidance to help you generate your own custom practice questions using third-party AI tools of your choosing. Any content you generate this way and bring into ExamOven is treated the same as any other content you supply under Section 5 — you're responsible for its accuracy and for ensuring you have the right to use it.

8. Data Storage and Privacy

Your exam attempt history and results are stored locally on your device by default. If you opt in to Google Drive Sync, your data will also be stored in your personal Google Drive account. All data handling, storage, retention, and your rights concerning this data are governed by our Privacy Policy. Use of the sync feature is additionally subject to Google's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

9. Donations

We may provide an optional way to support the project financially. Donations are voluntary, are not made in exchange for any specific good or service, and do not affect your access to the Service. Any payment is processed directly between you and your chosen payment provider; we do not collect or store your payment details.

10. Disclaimers

The Service, including all practice results and performance analysis, is intended for personal study purposes only and is not a guaranteed predictor of your performance on any actual exam.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including (without limitation) warranties of accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, ExamOven and its individual operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, exam performance, or opportunity, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Because this Service is provided free of charge by an individual developer, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you've paid us in the past 12 months (typically zero), or (b) a nominal amount as permitted by applicable law.

Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded under applicable law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the operator of ExamOven from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above, and where changes are significant, we'll make reasonable efforts to give notice within the app. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect.
